What Are Screw Pumps?

Screw pumps are positive displacement pumps that move liquid by using rotating screws to create sealed chambers. As the screws rotate, the liquid is moved continuously from the suction side to the discharge side.

Unlike some pump types that create higher levels of pulsation or turbulence, screw pumps are designed to move liquids smoothly and continuously. This makes them useful for oils, lubricating liquids, fuel oils and other fluids where controlled, low-pulsation transfer is important.

Allweiler three screw pumps are used for oils and other lubricating liquids, as well as non-lubricating liquids or liquids with poor lubricating properties.
